The event was hosted jointly by famous Washingtonian philanthropist Ms.Susan Lehrman and the Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission Mr.Denis Gonchar. AU History professor and Institute director Mr.Anton Fedyashin proudly highlighted that after the Jazz concert, total amount of people attending the events aimed at Russian culture’s promotion in D.C. area surpassed 15 thousand during the last 4 years.

Currently Igor Butman and Moscow Jazz Orchestra are conducting another U.S. tour which includes performances in Florida, New-Jersey, Pennsylvania and New-York. According to Maestro, these kind of regular tours are “essential for self-esteem”. “We always have large attendance and receive a very positive feedback to our concerts,” – Mr.Butman clarified, - And the musicians can see that there's a great demand in the U.S. for everything we’ve been working on, while America itself has many great national jazz artists and orchestras”.
