US National Youth Orchestra Concert at the Russian Embassy
On July 12, the Russian Embassy hosted a concert of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America led by one of the world’s most famous conductors Maestro Valery Gergiev.
He is the first bandmaster to head for one-year-term a new company of 120 talented young musicians from 42 American states, brought together by Carnegie Hall. The orchestra’s inaugural concerts in Washington DC open its tour in USA, Russia and Great Britain.
Young musicians presented to the audience classical pieces by S.Barber, V.Ewald, M.Prokofiev, F.Shubert and P.Tchaykovsky. The guests of the Embassy gave the orchestra and its conductor a standing ovation.
