U.S.-Russia Pacific Aviation Roundtable

On May 13 Embassy of the Russian Federation to the USA, Trade Representation of Russia and U.S.-Russia Business Council co-hosted Pacific Aviation Roundtable dedicated to the perspectives of establishing direct flights between the Far East and the U.S. West Coast.

Representatives of regions, core Ministries and agencies, as well as leading Russian and U.S. air operators of the two regions, including “Yakutia”, “Vladivostok Avia”, “S7”, “Alaska Airlines”, “United Airlines”, “Delta” and “InterPacific Aviation and Marketing” were among the participants.
Air carriers spoke in an open way of their experience and obstacles they faced while organizing flights from Russia to the USA over the Pacific Ocean. At the same time, the seminar demonstrated that interest of air companies in such flights is growing.

An increase in the number of flights and their shift from seasonal to yearly basis could be expected in the coming years.
