Russian MFA Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich answers the media question about Russian-U.S. contacts on Syria

Question: As it is known, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry recently intensively communicates by phone with his foreign colleagues, discussing Syria. Were there any contacts with Sergey Lavrov?
Answer: From Saturday 31 August this year, the U.S. State Department has repeatedly asked for a telephone conversation with Sergey Lavrov. Despite our constant confirmation, the U.S. side each time informed us that it is impossible to get in touch with the Secretary of State for unspecified reasons, and our proposals to fix specific time for the talk remained with no response.
