Comment by the Information and Press Department on strikes by the US-led anti-ISIS coalition

December 8, 2016

On December 7, according to reports we have received, warplanes of the US-led anti-ISIS coalition bombed civilian targets in the north of the Syrian province of Raqqa. A residential area in the town of Musheirifa was hit. Around 18 people reportedly died and many others were wounded. Medics are struggling to save their lives.
These reports are deeply troubling. The suffering of the civilian population must be stopped. Strikes that kill or inflict hardships on innocent Syrians are unacceptable and should be strongly condemned. It is hard to accept the circulated explanations about alleged mistakes or negligence on the part of those who are in Syria uninvited.
