The Trade Representative of the Russian Federation


The Trade Representation is the government office which promotes trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the USA. It represents and safeguards state interests in bilateral foreign trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. Trade Representation takes part in trade and economic cooperation negotiations and monitors the implementation of bilateral agreements, participates in the activities of the Intergovernmental U.S.-Russia Business Development Committee.

The Trade Representation is an integral part of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the USA but is subordinated directly to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade  headed by Minister German O.GREF. The staff of the Trade Representation includes qualified economists and experts trained in the field of foreign trade and investments.

Due to the process of liberalization of international trade it became one of major field of our activities to provide assistance and consulting services both to Russian and American companies and entities regardless of their form of ownership and scale in finding business partners, organizing joint ventures, elaborating commercial agreements and contracts.

Special attention and assistance is paid to government-sponsored delegations of Russian officials and businessmen, bankers and entrepreneurs arriving to the United States to participate in seminars, briefings, negotiations and presentations. Some of them are periodically held in the premises of the Trade Representation. The office also provides assistance relating to changes occurring in the Russian trade law and customs regulations.

American companies and private businessmen may rely on services of Russian Trade Representation's staff when they encounter problems in dealing with Russian government entities, banks or private partners.
